Demographics
The populations are concentrated around the capitals. Copenhagen and Southern Swedish areas are the most densely populated in the region.

Each country has its own local language. English is the first foreign language and is very widely spoken and understood, particularly in the Scandinavian countries and Finland.
 
Currency
Apart from Finland, who has adopted the Euro, all other countries maintain their own currency while still remaining a part of the EU, with the exception of Norway, who enjoys the status of an oil rich state.

Companies with headquarters within the Copenhagen catchments area include, but are not limited to;  AP Moller, Maersk, LEGO, Microsoft, Pfizer, Intel, American International Group, GlaxoSmithKline, Coca Cola, Novartis, Nestle, Eli Lilly, Dell Computers, ENI, Texas Instruments, L’Oreal, Sony, Walt Disney, Daimler Chrysler, HP, Toyota and Total Elf Finans, Danske Bank and Saxo Bank, Novo Nordisk, Lundbeck, IKEA and many more. The Copenhagen and South Sweden area consider Copenhagen Airport as their point of origin. This market in particularly has a potential for a significant growth.
